Getting Shower Inserts

If you are looking for shower inserts, then you either need to replace a few small items such shower heads and soap holders or you need to replace the shower floor or tub. Either way, this article will talk a bit about the advantages and disadvantages of having certain types of inserts for your shower or tub. We will also discuss some tips when it comes to caring for and installing these inserts.

One of the first things you will notice about a shower insert, if you’re talking about the walls, is that they are a flat surface. For many people, these inserts don’t look nearly as good as having tiles. Of course, the problem with having tiles is that you have to constantly clean the tile grouts. Now over time, your tiles will generally start to deteriorate or simply get too old and will make your bathroom look unsightly. One choice you will obviously have is to replace them. The problem is, it can be quite expensive to do so. So the first advantage of having tub shower inserts or inserts for your showers is that it’s relatively inexpensive in comparison.

The next benefit of having tub and shower inserts is that they are quite easy to install. Depending on the condition of your tiles, you can normally just place them right over your existing tiles. There are generally two types of inserts you can get. One will come with just one piece. The other will come with multiple pieces where you will be joining then together. For the shower floors and tub, it will come in one piece. This is what makes them a lot easier to install than replacing the tiles.

There are some disadvantages to having these inserts though. The first is the way they look. For many people, the look and feel of tiles can really make the bathroom look great. With inserts, the look of your bathroom can look quite plain and dull. Another disadvantage is that they are less sturdy than tiles. Also, if you are putting them over your tiles, which in most cases you will, over a long period of time, the tiles can become loose resulting in the formation of bulges in your inserts.

There inserts are normally made of either plastic or fiberglass. The plastic is made of polyethylene which is resistant to heat as well as moisture which is good. The downside is that this material is prone to things such as mold so what you will want to do is clean it every couple of weeks. The fiberglass material is more expensive than the plastic ones. These are basically plastic but with a layer of glass fibers which make them a lot more durable. Fiberglass shower inserts are normally a better choice if you want your shower insert to last longer.

Now in terms of installation, you can either do it yourself or hire a professional to install it for you. If you do it yourself, you will want to make sure that the shower inserts are glued to the wall correctly. This is to help prevent water from getting in between the inserts and the wall which can result in damage. Just make sure that after you install the inserts that there aren’t any leaks. You will want to make sure you use liners to secure them in place.

When it comes to shower inserts, replacing the walls, the shower floor or even the tub can cost you several hundred dollars but it’s generally cheaper than having to replace your tiles. Inserts also include things like shower heads, soap holders, and even safety handles. Many of these fixtures can be install by using the right type of glue. You can find any of these types of inserts online or any store that sells plumbing and bathroom equipment such as Home Depot.
