Why Buy Garment Racks?
Garment racks are useful in environments where hanging clothes is necessary for purposes of merchandising, relocation of merchandise, or for storage. A garment rack may be used to transport clothes from one location to the next or it may be a stationary unit which displays more than one item. They are used in large department stores, small retail stores, Laundromats, thrift stores, in the garment districts of metropolitan areas, on movie sets, modeling sets and for special events such as fashion shows and plays. Any time that storage of items which rest on hangers is necessary, garment racks are relied upon.
Rolling garment racks are used for transportation of merchandise. These usually stand up at between 6’ – 8 ‘ (height) and can be between 4’ – 8’ long. They are usually made of steel or an alloy. They are typically composed of two upright vertical poles which rest on a carrying mechanism with two feet which support a top horizontal beam. There are often grab bars on the ends of the rack to push and pull the cart. When merchandise which is stored in a wholesale warehouse for distribution to retail and re-sell chains is shipped to other locations, it is transferred on rolling racks with wheels.
These racks roll up and down aisles, onto trucks and into other locations. The wheels are necessary in order to push the merchandise effortlessly from one location to the next. Items are then transferred to company owned racks with wheels and are shipped into the store where the items are placed on a garment rack which is stationary and meant for purposes of display. These forms of display may be made in the shape of a “T” where garments are displayed outward on dual racks or on a folding garment rack which may be in the shape of an “O” or in a “t”. These can be called “T-stands” or “rounders”.
A portable garment rack which is smaller than the delivery or shipment rack is used oftentimes between stock rooms and fitting rooms. These racks can hold less merchandise than their larger counterparts. All of the above listed are typically created out of steel or alloys. Spacing holes are provided for moving “arms” which provide additional support for hung items and height can usually be adjusted. Other variations of these racks are created.
